DN100
The DN100 has become an established favourite amongst both engineers and musicians alike. With its high headroom, dynamic response and sonic clarity, DN100 faithfully reproduces the character of electric and acoustic instruments and allows far more of the detail of musical performances to be captured. DN100 is intended for professional applications where +48 V phantom power is a standard feature on all mixing consoles, and its innovative design results in a significantly higher clipping point than many other active DI Boxes, providing +10 dBu output into a 2 kΩ load. This increased headroom means that much higher-level input signals can be accommodated without the need for an attenuating pad. Combined with a very low noise input circuit topology, DN100 offers a very wide dynamic range, and only requires a single -30 dB pad for use when connecting directly to instrument amplifier outputs.
DN100 is built to handle the rigours of life on the road, a thick aluminium extrusion protects the electronics, and in turn is covered by a tough silicone rubber sleeve.
Balanced Transformer-Isolated Output
Exhaustive listening tests using a wide variety of active and passive bass guitars, electro-acoustic guitars and electronic musical instruments were carried out to select the components for DN100 to achieve the best musical sound. Not only was the choice of the audio transformer particularly important in achieving this goal, but the impedances of the surrounding components were also highly critical in getting the best possible performance out of the audio transformer. The line-driving characteristics of the transformer output were carefully optimised to provide the best frequency and phase responses for short and long cables and widely differing line and termination impedances.
Care was taken in the design of the DN100 to avoid audio transformer core saturation and a fixed high pass filter has been included in the signal path to roll off frequencies below those that are musically important. The lowest note on a 5- or 6-string bass guitar is B0 with a frequency of 30.87 Hz, and the lowest note on an 88-key piano keyboard is A0 with a frequency of 27.50 Hz. DN100 still maintains a frequency response of ±0.5 dB at these lowest musical notes.
As well as the transformer in the signal path, DN100 also has a transformer to isolate the power rails to the input circuit from the phantom power supply sourced from the output XLR connector. When used in conjunction with the Earth Lift switch, this full galvanic isolation of input and output interfaces ensures that any risk of earth loops is avoided when taking a direct feed from stage backline equipment.
Dual-Impedance Inputs
A custom instrumentation-grade input circuit was designed for the DN100 using advanced analogue design techniques to create the very high input impedance required by passive guitar and bass pickups, whilst keeping the actual component values low to minimise noise. This innovative approach to circuit design produces a very low noise floor, which combined with the high clipping point creates an unrivalled dynamic range in a +48 V phantom powered DI Box.
DN100 features one parallel-connected XLR and two ¼" TRS inputs, one which may also be used a link output for connection to a guitar or bass amplifier. When connecting to the XLR input only, the input impedance is 20 kΩ, ideal for line level equipment and offering even lower noise performance. This input impedance is far too low for guitar and bass pickups and is removed from the circuit when a jack plug is inserted into a ¼" TRS input, resulting in a nominal 1 MΩ input impedance, ideal for passive electric pickups.
Illuminated 30dB Pad and Earth Lift Switches
DN100 features illuminated Pad and Earth Lift switches, which along with the +48V phantom power indicator LED, provide ‘at a glance’ status display, even at wide distances and viewing angles.
The Earth Lift switch separates the input and output grounds, useful in eliminating earth loops between equipment on different mains electricity supplies.
Built for the Road
Featuring a tough aluminium extrusion, the DN100 is designed for the rigours of live concert touring. The protective rubber corners also insulate the DN100 chassis to further enhance its electrical isolation. Premium Neutrik XLR connectors are used to ensure reliable audio connections, night after night.

Oberheim DMX
Launched in 1981, the Oberheim DMX also used sampled sounds of real drums, individual tuning controls for each voice, and a swing function to add a little grove. The controls gave the DMX the ability to emulate a real drummer via timing variations, rolls, and flams to create a more human “feel”.
The DMX has 11 samples, which can be used to create 24 individual drum sounds and allows up to 8 voices simultaneously. It has 8 separate outputs for individual channel processing and holds up to 100 sequences and 50 songs.
The DMX’s hard-hitting and convincing drum sound made it attractive to artists and producers in the burgeoning Hip-Hop culture and it is featured on many of the scenes early innovative records. New Order used the DMX to great effect on their 1983 single, “Blue Monday” with its repeating bass drum pattern.
E-mu SP-1200
Released in 1987, the E-mu SP-1200 was quickly accepted into the Hip-Hop world due to its limited bandwidth sampling rate, classic 4-pole filter, and 12-bit sampling resolution.
This all contributed to the unit’s gravelly sounds, which have been featured on many hit recordings. The SP-1200’s ability to build the main structure of a song within a single piece of gear (a first in the industry) cut Hip-Hop artists loose from the studio to perform live alongside the machine. Famous users include the Beastie Boys, The Prodigy, and Daft Punk.
AKAI MPC60
The celebrated Akai MPC was designed by Roger Linn and produced by Akai from 1988 onwards. The MPC allowed artists to use new clever ways to manipulate small samples to create a completely new track. These snippets were often lifted from other records and thus started a new style of “Sound-Collage”.
The original MPC60 only allowed sample lengths of up to 13 seconds. Sampling memory was expensive at the time, which steered people to records at higher5 speeds in order to gain more time. The side effect was playback at a lower resolution, which contributed to the grittiness of the sound. Famous users include Kanye West, Dr. Dre, and Mark Ronson.

CAT
The 1970s spawned the first truly portable analog synthesizer, and while it was quickly adopted by lots of renowned musical artists including Jan Hammer, Chick Corea, Rick Wakeman, Jean-Michel Jarre, Isao Tomita and Keith Emerson to name a few, it was somewhat temperamental and very expensive.
In 1975, a new synth strolled into town. The Cat as it was called was an analog, duophonic, three octave synthesizer that was very similar to the ARP Odyssey. Its keyboard would produce two control voltages that were routed into its two VCOs. An ultra-affordable and even more feature-packed homage to that iconic synthesizer comes in the form of the Behringer CAT.
Conjure up the virtually any sound imaginable with incredible finesse and ease. The pure analog signal path is based on authentic VCO, VCF and VCA designs in conjunction with 4 variable and simultaneous oscillator shapes and Duophonic/Paraphonic capabilities. Owning a CAT is like having your own personal time machine, enabling you to freely embrace the past – or shape the future. And the best of all, it doesn’t scratch.
True to the Original
Great care has been taken in engineering the CAT, including the true to the original analog circuitry, legendary VCO, VCF and VCA designs that come together to recreate classic tones that are evocative of classic electronic music.
This highly-focused attention to detail is what gives the CAT its ultra-flexible sound shaping capability. It gives you the ability to cover a lot of amazing tones from super-fat bass, tasty leads – and all the way to full on dreamy ambience from the far reaches of your imagination.
Big, Fat Tones
The synthesizer tracks laid down in the 1970s and 80s in progressive rock, wave and synth-pop have become classics and have inspired many other artists. The CAT lets you recreate all that magic – or design some incredible and original sounds that will make you a legend in your own right!
Keyboard Control
The CAT has the ability to accept any keyboard controller via MIDI. The signals generated can be tweaked via the Pitch Bend slider which can bend a note up or down one octave.
Bump this up to two octaves by flipping the Octave Shift switch up or down. Use the Glide slider to change how fast a note transitions to another; up is faster, down is slower. Combine that with the LFO Freq slider to control the LFO and ADSR repeat tempo and you can create some amazing pulsating portamentos.
Two VCOs are Better
The very heart of the CAT’s sound is its two VCOs. The Duophonic/Paraphonic nature of the CAT allows both oscillators to be controlled independently. Use the Fine and Coarse Frequency controls to tune VCO1 to VCO2.
Keyboard control on the CAT can be set to either Mono or Poly. Poly mode lets VCO1 generate the highest note played on the keyboard while VCO2 handles the lowest allowing two notes to be played simultaneously. Setting the switch to Mono mode makes VCO1 generate the lowest note depressed on the keyboard.
Make Waves
Waveform switches on both VCOs allow different waveforms to be patched in from the LFO. Choose between Sine, Square, Sample and Hold and even pitch modulation through each VCO. Turning the Modulation Depth knobs in either direction controls the intensity of the effect. VCO2 also comes with a Sync switch that locks VCO1 with it and has them act as one huge oscillator to produce more complex waveforms and dramatic results. Mix VCO1 into VCO2 or vice versa and the CAT can produce some really tasty tones that make themselves at home in your next synth jam.
Slide In
Each VCO on the CAT comes equipped with their own waveform sliders where you can adjust the volume of each type of VCO wave form. Pump up the Sub Octave, Sawtooth, Square, Triangle or Pulse waves or mix them all together and create some truly unique tones.
VCF
As if combining two VCOs wasn’t amazing enough, the CAT comes with another set of claws in the form of a VCF filter section. Here you can get more complex and robust tones by incorporating VCO1 into the mix.
Introduce more waveforms and manipulate the Q slider to emphasize harmonics and Filter Cutoff slider which acts as a low-pass filter. Turn the CAT into a really funky bass machine or an out-of-this-world synth that creates some searing lead tones. You can even create some amazing drum sounds by manipulating the VCOs, VCF and ADSR.
The Envelope, Please…
To give the signal even more character, you can use the CAT’s Transient Generator to create a detailed voltage transient every time a key is depressed. Adjust the Attack, Decay, Sustain and Release via the matching sliders and to shape your signal.
The AR transient generator works similarly to the ADSR but with less detailed control over the envelope. You can also set the ADSR to automatically repeat or only when a key is held down. The Sample and Hold switch can be set so the VCO1 setting is sampled or, when set to Noise mode, produce a random output pattern. Slide the LFO Delay control up or down to determine when the LFO will reach its maximum output after a key is depressed.
The Ins and Outs
The CAT features a whole slew of Inputs and Outputs that expand its capabilities beyond what you can see out of the box. You can route external control voltages to VCO1 or 2, the VCF and even pump in some external line-level audio into the CAT.
You can even connect the CAT to other external synthesizers through the Gate, ADSR, AR or Keyboard Outputs. The CAT’s 16-note Poly Chain function lets you combine multiple synthesizers for up to 16-voice polyphony – and it provides vastly improved reliability and stability over its 1970s and '80s predecessors.
Controls & Connectivity
We just can’t help ourselves – like you, we're gear-heads, too. For those who want the numbers, the CAT has 47 controls, all laid out in a highly-intuitive format that puts the joy back into your music creation.
Unleash Your Imagination
When it comes to not just pushing envelopes but creating them, the CAT gives your imagination its voice – and it’s so very affordable. When modern performance calls for classic analog sound – it calls for the Behringer CAT!

A Brief History of Analog Synthesis
The modern synthesizer’s evolution began in 1919, when a Russian physicist named Lev Termen (also known as Léon Theremin) invented one of the first electronic musical instruments – the Theremin.
It was a simple oscillator that was played by moving the performer’s hand in the vicinity of the instrument’s antenna. An outstanding example of the Theremin’s use can be heard on the Beach Boys iconic smash hit “Good Vibrations”.
Ondioline
In the late 1930s, French musician Georges Jenny invented what he called the Ondioline, a monophonic electronic keyboard capable of generating a wide range of sounds. The keyboard even allowed the player to produce natural-sounding vibrato by depressing a key and using side-to-side finger movements. You can hear the Ondioline on Del Shannon’s “Runaway”.
Storytone Piano
Designed by famous piano manufacturer Story & Clark in association with RCA, the Storytone piano debuted at the 1939 New York World’s Fair. Hailed as the world’s first electric piano, the Storytone is prized by musicians and collectors alike for its realistic piano sound – only 500 or so were ever built.
Mellotron
Finding a high level of acceptance in the 1960s, Harry Chamberlin’s Mellotron was an electro-mechanical keyboard that generated sounds by playing back pre-recorded tape loops. Although tempermental and prone to pitch and mechanical issues, the Mellotron was used extensively by many U.K. artists.
Classic tracks from the Moody Blues “Days of Future Passed”, the Beatles “Strawberry Fields Forever”, and the Rolling Stones “She’s a Rainbow” are prime examples. Attribute author: By Buzz Andersen from San Francisco, California, United States Mellotron | NAMM 2007
Arp 2600
Manufactured by ARP Instruments, Inc., the Arp 2600 was one of the most successful synthesizers to come out of the 1970s. They were ideal for players new to the synth world, and allowed patches to be changed via switches or 1/8" audio cables.
The list of recordings and artists that used the venerable Arp 2600 reads like a veritable Who's Who of rock, pop and jazz, and includes The Who, David Bowie, John Lennon, Depeche Mode, Edgar Winter, Frank Zappa and Herbie Hancock – to name just a few.

Minimoog
Designed to replace the large, modular synths being used in pop music at the time, Bill Hemsath and Robert Moog developed the Minimoog in 1971. The monophonic instrument became the first truly all-in-one, portable analog synthesizer.
Thanks to its 3 oscillators and 24 dB/octave filter, the Minimoog produces an extremely rich and powerful bass sound and is still in high demand today. Yes keyboardist Rick Wakeman said the instrument “absolutely changed the face of music.” Attribute author: glacial23 - Early Minimoog Uploaded by clusternote, CC BY-SA 2.0
Yamaha CS-80
In 1976, Yamaha released their CS-80 8-voice polyphonic synthesizer, which provided velocity-sensitive keys and aftertouch that worked on individual voices. The analog instrument featured a ribbon controller, which allowed the user to perform polyphonic pitch bends and smooth glissandos.
Composer Vangelis used the CS-80 extensively in the Blade Runner and Chariots of Fire soundtracks. The CS-80 also provided the bass line heard in the BBC 1980 series Doctor Who theme song
Sequential Circuits Prophet 5
Sequential Circuits introduced the Prophet 5, which was the first analog 5-voice polyphonic synthesizers to provide onboard memory storage of all patch settings for instant recall.
The great-sounding Prophet 5 revolutionized the synthesizer world and, in spite of its rather expensive price tag, became one of the most successful synths of all time. Designed by Dave Smith and J owen, the Prophet 5 was the keyboard of choice by a very long list of performers that includes Peter Gabriel, Philip Glass, Journey,
The Cars, Thomas Dolby, Duran Duran, Gary Numan, Pink Floyd, and countless others. Image attribution: original uploader was Felix2036 at Dutch Wikipedia derivative work: Clusternote (Sequential_Circuits_Prophet_5.jpg) [Public domain], via Wikimedia Commons Which brings us to 1977...
A Passion for Keyboards
Our founder, Uli Behringer has a deep passion for keyboards. Born in the small town of Baden, Switzerland in 1961, Uli grew up in a musical family where his mother taught him to play the piano at the tender age of four.
His father was a scientist who built a massive organ in the family home and taught the young lad all about electronics. So at the age of 17, Behringer built his first synthesizer – the UB-1. Later, while attending college to seek a degree in audio engineering, Uli put his electronics knowledge to use, building his own equalizers and signal processors to fill the gap left by the university's inability to provide enough proper studio gear.
Word soon spread about how good his products were, and he began building gear for his friends – the Behringer legacy had begun. The rest, as they say, is history...

CRESCENDO AUTO SWELL
Every once in a while, an effect arrives ahead of its own time, and before guitarists can figure out what do with it, it’s no longer available. As a result, and despite their high retail price, they become extremely valuable because of their rarity. CRESCENDO AUTO SWELL brings one of those iconic and rare effects back to life, and makes it readily available, affordable and built to withstand a lifetime of abuse.
A Rare Bird
Just like the musical term, crescendo means to start at a low volume and then swell to a much louder level, which is similar the sound of a violin being bowed. Now you get those sweeping swells from your guitar, without searching high and low for hard-to-find vintage gear, and we’re talkin’ about a brand new, in the box CRESCENDO AUTO SWELL pedal that is backed by one of the most generous warranty programs. Try to get that at a garage sale!
Subtle and Simple
Thanks to just 2 knobs (Sensitivity & Attack) and a true bypass switch, CRESCENDO AUTO SWELL is easy to use and functions much like a noise gate, only in reverse. Instead of clamping down on the tail of your signal, CRESCENDO AUTO SWELL mutes the initial attack and then swells up to full volume. Put simply, it removes the pick attack and blooms into a beautiful swelling note.
Roadworthy
Housed in a sturdy metal enclosure, CRESCENDO AUTO SWELL was built to withstand years of daily abuse. The high-quality analog circuitry and true bypass switch respects your tone and keeps the signal nice and clean. So whether you’re creating pedal steel like chord tones, the sound of foghorns cutting through the fog, or the sweet swelling strains of a violin section – CRESCENDO AUTO SWELL was made just for you!

Tone Up with Paul Gilbert
We’re very excited to have collaborated with the mighty Paul Gilbert on a specially modified edition of the MOJOMOJO OVERDRIVE pedal. If you’re looking for a huge overdrive sound, you better ally with Mr. Big himself to have the fundamental tone dialed in just right! Sporting a couple of tweaks to the circuit and a stylish new purple Jacket, MOJOMOJO PAUL GILBERT EDITION is like the perfect chicken tender, combining juicy and crunchy in the most delicious way possible!
But This One Goes to Eleven
Paul always uses his original MOJOMOJO pedal with the same voice setting, so we swapped out the Voice switch for a new 11 switch. Flipping the 11 switch engages a massive gain boost for even more drive and attack. And believe us, this one really does go to 11 in that totally meaningful and wildly rocking Spinal Tap-like fashion, giving you that last push over the cliff!
Warning! High Voltage Territory Ahead
We added stepped-up circuit board voltage to the MOJOMOJO PAUL GILBERT EDITION, giving you dramatically increased headroom and dynamics for an incredibly alive and soaring overdrive, keeping your tone crisp – but not toasted!
Walk This Way!
Let’s take a quick walk around the controls of the MOJOMOJO PAUL GILBERT EDITION. On the ground floor, you find an extremely powerful active EQ to boost and shape treble and bass frequencies independently. And on the second floor, you get instant access to Drive and Level controls for fast and easy on-the-fly adjustments. Plug in. Tweak. Rock out! It’s as simple as that.
True Bypass
The MOJOMOJO PAUL GILBERT EDITION comes fully loaded with true bypass circuitry to ensure you retain all of your instruments signal integrity, whenever the pedal is disengaged.
Built for Rock - Like A Rock!
If like Paul Gilbert, you spend most of your life playing guitar, you’ll want reassurance that if your creative juices should get interrupted (god forbid!), it’s not gonna be because of your pedals. MOJOMOJO PAUL GILBERT EDITION is constructed from high-quality components not only to give you extraordinary overdrive tones, but also to ensure you’ll keep on rocking for years and years.
Two Ways to Power
To power your new MOJOMOJO PAUL GILBERT EDITION you can use a 9V battery or the 9V DC power input. If you choose a battery, we’ve given you very easy, one-screw battery compartment access. We know that if you run out of power mid song, you need to be able to swap the battery before the guitar solo! So, you can open the pedal simply by using a coin (or a solid pick), ensuring that rock won’t have to wait long for you.

QUINTESSENCE HARMONY
QUINTESSENCE HARMONY is a state-of-the-art intelligent harmonizer pedal that features expressive MASH technology and powerful TonePrint editing. Capable of beefing up your playing in any musical style from country or southern rock harmonies to Thin Lizzy-esque twin riffs and screaming metal leads, QUINTESSENCE follows your every whim with perfectly harmonized notes in a wide variety of modes and scales. With MASH, QUINTESSENCE can bend the harmonized notes without you moving a finger, momentarily harmonize just a few bars or notes and with our proprietary TonePrint technology you can even choose exotic scales and custom intervals for harmonies. Complex as it may sound, QUINTESSENCE sounds simply stunning – and its intuitive and straightforward design makes it easy to use.
MASH up an Interval
QUINTESSENCE features a MASH footswitch giving you a powerful expressive tool without taking up any extra pedalboard real estate. By default the MASH switch has been assigned to bend your harmonized note up to the next interval within the scale but in TonePrint mode, you can assign MASH to control just about any aspect of the pedal including custom scale steps - both above and below the original harmony. This not only makes the QUINTESSENCE much more versatile as you can switch between two different intervals mid-song without having to fiddle with knobs, but it also lets you do fluid pedal steel bends worthy of the greasiest Nashville honky-tonks out there.
Footswitch Flexibility
QUINTESSENCE quickly and easily lets you toggle between standard latch mode and momentary mode for spontaneously improvised harmonizing on the spot. This is useful when you need a little extra something in the last bar of your solo for dramatic effect or for riffs where you want an emphasis on a certain note or beat. If the boys are back in town and you know you’re going to be playing long harmonized riffs and want to move around the stage a bit, set QUINTESSENCE to latch mode and run to the hills! And don’t worry – MASH works in either setting.
Customize Your Harmony
If you don’t feel like using one of the seven preset diatonic modes commonly used, the Custom scale mode lets you load in whichever flavor of tonality you want your harmonies to follow. When QUINTESSENCE is not in TonePrint mode the Custom mode is set for Locrian. Using the 3 TonePrint slots however, you can set it to a wealth of different custom scales. Feeling major pentatonic or harmonic minor today? Have at it, Hoss!
Triple TonePrint Treasures
The TonePrint platform allows you to customize your own harmonies with one or two extra voices on top of your dry signal in any way you want. Of course, you get 3 TonePrint slots to get you safely through your set list. The free TonePrint editor gives you access to a wealth of tweakable parameters to get you exactly the harmonies you want. Instead of spending your time trying to find your own Dickey Betts or Marty Friedman for your band – QUINTESSENCE has your back and is always in tune.
True to Tone
You love tone, so do we, and our design philosophy testifies to that. So whatever route you wanna go, we got your back. With optimized headroom, True Bypass or Buffered Bypass switch and Kill-Dry on/off, this pedal guarantees optimal tonal integrity and zero loss of tone. And, no matter if the pedal is on or off your precious dry sound is always passed through the pedal unharmed in all it's pure analog glory due to an Analog-Dry-Through.

With its 600 ultra-clean Watts of digital output, delivered through separately-powered drivers via a true bi-amping mode with 2 amplifiers per speaker, the KXD12 delivers high-resolution sound that really brings out the best in your music. BEHRINGER has gone the extra mile, driving each woofer and tweeter with a separate amplifier for absolute signal integrity.
Class-D - Massive Power, Perfect Sound
Thanks to our revolutionary Class-D amplifier technology, we are able to provide you with enormous power and incredible sonic performance in an easy-to-use, ultra-portable and lightweight package. Class-D amplification makes all the difference, offering the ultimate in energy efficiency and eliminating the need for heavy power supplies and massive heat sinks. FBQ – Master of Tone
Our proprietary 7-band FBQ-equipped graphic equalizer is the ultimate tool for quickly and easily EQ’ing your keyboards and vocals. The entire audio spectrum from below 63 Hz to above 16 kHz is covered, and each of these frequency bands provide a healthy 12 dB boost or cut – to help you sculpt the perfect sound. Special attention has been paid to the critical midrange frequencies, which can make or break your tone. Plus, when you engage the FBQ switch, you can physically see which frequency bands are contributing the most to the output signal content. So even if you’re not an audio engineer, you can see what’s going on with your sound – and then make the necessary EQ adjustments with confidence and ease!
FBQ – Totally Feedback-Free
For more than 20 years, BEHRINGER has designed and manufactured some of the most successful FBQ Feedback Elimination processors. Now you can own and enjoy the benefits of this technology, as we have integrated the revolutionary FBQ Feedback Detection System in this product, so your sound system is completely feedback-free, allowing you to focus on your performance. Utilizing an ultra-fast feedback detection system, this ingenious circuitry helps you recognize and tame feedback frequencies immediately. When feedback is sensed in a specific frequency range, the LED on the associated EQ fader illuminates, showing you at a glance which fader to lower to overcome the feedback. That simple!

True to the Original
Great care has been taken in engineering the CRAVE, including the true to the original analog circuitry, legendary VCO, VCF and VCA designs, all of which combine to make it easy to recreate the classic sound performance. This highly-focused attention to detail is what gives the CRAVE its ultra-flexible sound shaping capability, which covers everything from super-fat bass and lead tones to stunning effects – and all the way out to the otherworldly sounds of your imagination.
Big, Fat Tones
The inspired synthesizer tracks laid down in the 1980s and ’90s are etched in the annals of progressive rock, wave, EDM and synth-pop music forever, making them truly classic in every sense of the word. The CRAVE lets you recreate all of that magic – or design incredibly fat and original sounds that will make you a legend in your own right!
Authentic 3340 Oscillator
CRAVE’s 3340 Voltage Controlled Oscillator (VCO) provides your choice of pulse or reverse-sawtooth waveforms. When pulse is selected, the width can be varied using the Shape switch for narrow, squarewave or wide pulse – with a tuning range of ± one full octave. The VCO can be modulated via the envelope or the low frequency oscillator (LFO). Performance is further enhanced by the Mix control, which balances the levels of the internal VCO and noise generator. This amazing flexibility gives you the tools to be your creative best.
Versatile VCF
The very heart of CRAVE’s sound is its Classic Moog* 24 dB ladder filter, which lets you freely experiment with the Cutoff Frequency, Resonance and Modulation to dial in the perfect sound. CRAVE’s filter Mode switch can be set to either Lo- or Hi-pass for selecting the range of your choice.
16-Note Poly Chain Ready
While it is a monophonic instrument (one note at a time), CRAVE’s 16-note Poly Chain function lets you combine multiple synthesizers for up to 16-voice polyphony – plus provides vastly improved reliability and stability over its 1970s and '80s predecessors.
Rock Right out-of-the Box!
Your CRAVE comes ready to rock, thanks to its default signal routing that doesn’t require lifting a single patch cable to instantly create amazing sounds. The semi-modular architecture lets you easily tap into the inspired sounds of 1980s and ’90s progressive rock, wave, EDM and synth-pop music synthesizer tracks that made rock and roll history – or to design incredibly fat and original sounds that will make you a legend in your own right!
The Envelope, Please...
CRAVE’s Envelope generator features Attack, Decay and Sustain knobs that help you craft incredible sounds, plus a Sustain On/Off switch, which can either sustain the note for as long as the key is held, or start the decay as soon as the attack setting times out.
Onboard Sequencer & Arpeggiator
CRAVE’s sequencer allows you to program up to 32 steps of notes and rests and save them as a pattern. You can record, save and recall up to 64 patterns, all of which can be stored in the 8 banks, each holding up to 8 patterns. Your sequences can be played either in Keyboard mode, where you create and store the pattern, or Step mode, which allows you to interact while composing a pattern. The onboard Arpeggiator features 8 patterns (you can use just by playing a chord, which the arpeggiator then sequences through your selected pattern. Both the sequencer and arpeggiator in the CRAVE are fun, mesmerizing and totally addictive...
Truly-Analog LFO
Thanks to its dedicated and fully-analog Low Frequency Oscillator (LFO), CRAVE lets you choose from either triangle or square waveforms, and features an LED that provides visual feedback of the adjustable LFO Rate.
Modulate Me to the Max!
In addition to the great sound-sculpting features already mentioned, the CRAVE has still more to offer. The noise generator can also be used as modulation source to create distortion-like effects, which will send your solo soaring into the stratosphere. Glide (portamento) lets you sweep seamlessly over time from one note to the next, creating smooth-as-silk transitions that few other instruments can emulate. You can even modulate the pulse wave via the LFO, envelope or manually – for sounds ranging from mild to wild!
Controls & Connectivity
We just can’t help ourselves – like you, we're gear-heads, too. For those who want the numbers, CRAVE has 47 controls, all laid out in a highly-intuitive format that puts the joy back into your music creation. And you can expand CRAVE’s tone-sculpting capabilities beyond your wildest dreams by utilizing the 18 x 14 I/O matrix for incredibly vast and flexible patching options!
